This decade meaning from 2009-2019.
NFS: MW happened in 2005, and it kinda showed with the car selection. But what if this story happened in, say, 2015? What kind of cars would they be driving?
Now don’t just stop with that car: elaborate on their tune, what dress-up widebody kits their cars have, and color schemes. They still have to more or less be in line with what they are as people, and as tuners. Maybe some of them have the newest, greatest supercars, or maybe they’re vintage runners with absurd power in otherwise sleeper looks, or tuner-house specials.

Nah, Sonny would have a visually-modified Civic Type R but leave it mostly-stock to really capture that “My parents brought me this car for college after suing your parents ” feel.

I think most are pretty forgettable, but what replaces the top dog in the E46? What’s that cool and understated these days? Maybe like. A Tesla. True sign of the times, but they’re quick and desirable.
Or maybe a real fast 1 or 2 series. It’s sort of the car the 3 series used to be, and with a bit of power it would be a weapon given how small.
But really I don’t think cars are desirable in the way they once were. Sporty and racing cars aren’t really in, it’s all SUV this and market segment that. Sure, cars are faster than they’ve ever been. But eh.

I was 7 when it came out so most of the details are hazy for the top 15, but heres the 5 new ones:
Jen: Genesis 2.0t(manual) , boost cranked up with ported heads on a stock block , water methanol injection, heavily rolled fenders with an 18x10.5 Work M eister, drift stitches holding together a fiberglass front bumper, hood vents, roof spoiler, “ cheap” coilovers
Fernandez: 2014 Challenger 6.4 scat pack(auto) , stock motor with an exhaust system, Yellow body with bronze powder coated rims, their twitter and Instagram account in bold letters on the rear window, hellcat front bumper, emblems, and hood.
E speranza(manual) : Scion Frs with an sti swap, cobb tune, all the silicone hoses in red with an aluminum radiator, stainless steel 3" exhaust, larger turbo, front mount intercooler, 400whp, short shifter, angle knuckles, feal coilovers, big brake kit, lsd , 17x9.5 enkei gtc01rr rims, generic bolt on fender flares.
Kyle: 2017 Civic sport(auto) , slammed on coilovers, camber adjustment, v6 accord rims with a 1.5" spacer, plush toy hanging from the bumper.
Alex: Focus Rs(manual), tuned, full exhaust, focus st block bored out with rs heads coupled with a larger turbo, larger intercooler, cold air intake, 100shot of nitrous, lowering springs.

This would be an interesting bunch to have. I don’t think all of them would be 16-20 (especially if we go with daender’s answer regarding Sonny’s ride ), but that said I think only one or two would get in the upper 15. I’m thinking Esper and Fernandez are a safe shoo-in for 14 and 13, respectively.

To be fair he did tune his Golf somewhat (a Golf which I beat with a bone-stock Punto lul), so I’m guessing an ECU flash and a bigger turbo, maybe shorter gearing and some carbon parts.

lul the E46 is a race car. If anything the lead car would probably be more like a McLaren P1 GTR, or at least something that is very obviously not street legal but still based on something streetwise. Hrm... 911 GT3 Cup-MR ? Or something like that.

...I guess? I mean it would be absurd fun to pull up with an F-Pace SVR to face a BMW X4 M, but that’s not a compelling kind of race. I’m guessing about half the cast would have tuned build on Cayman-tier car s while the rest have supercars. Razor, probably would have an RTR Mustang , the Japanese cast would have either GT-Rs or NSXs, and guys like Ronnie and Webster would snap up an Aventador and a Ferrari.
